The Spring 2018 campaign imagery is a reflection of creative director, Hollie Bonneville Barden’s vision: celebrating the material as nature intended: inspired by nature, carved by man—a beautiful collision of gems and fine jewelry. The jewelry has the exotic drama of Bali, but also the harmony, the tension between the materials, that balance and contrast that’s interwoven into Balinese sensibilities and philosophies. It’s always been about layering for John Hardy, you buy one cuff and can then add to it next season. Chain is one of John Hardy’s icons, and in this collection, Hollie wanted to go back to the archives and revisit some of the more artistic impressions that were created years ago, The idea of a scarf necklace that you can multiwrap or tie and the really playful, daring pieces that John and Cynthia Hardy were experimenting with back in the 70’s, served as her inspiration. In the campaign visuals, we showcase the respect to John & Cynthia Hardy’s heritage, but the perspective is now expressed in a modern way. We continued to push this styling throughout the season and produced content with strong empowering messaging that reflected the John Hardy brand.
